POLINA OLKHOVNYKOVA ( Kyiv, Ukraine)

An  illustrator and graphic designer, currently studying at the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design.

Since being 14, Polina is interested in photography and shoots everything that comes in sight: whether it is natural landscapes, or commercial photo shootings and experimental film projects. She also developed an identity for one of the country’s most interesting musical festivals — Hedonism Festival. In 2018, she made her debut documentary tape “It’s breathing”, which was premiered in Slavutych during 86 festival. Later the tape was featured at DOK Leipzig, the largest European documentary film festival, where it was nominated for the Young Eyes Award, and also at the FFC (Film Festival Cottbus) — the festival in Cottbus. “In this film, I tried to investigate the influence of the city you live in from the point of forming you as a person; this film is about observation, rethinking and reflection, the interaction of living and nonliving, about something that was frozen in the air and that can not be measured by physical quantities,” — the girl says.
